Most recently, in a joint work with Bang-Jensen and Zhu, he initiated the study of orientation completion problems which generalize many recognition problems as well as representation problems, particularly for those graphs which can be defined in terms of the existence of certain orientations. They believed speaking out can be powerful. She also said almost all Chinese students in her university began to protest and file complaints. She acknowledged the importance to resist, speak up and bravely fight for their rights. Huang has obtained several representation characterizations of chordal bigraphs. Jing Huang thinks the best way to let people care about international students is to speak up together. ![]() In a joint work with Feder and Hell, he obtained a dichotomy theorem which classifies the complexity of list homomorphism problems. These orientations are very useful in the design of efficient algorithms in obtaining vertex orderings and geometric representations and solving computational problems of the corresponding graphs. This method has later been used for finding acyclic local tournament orientations of proper interval graphs, local transitive tournament orientations of proper circular arc graphs, special orientations of two-clique proper circular arc graphs, and transitive orientations of comparability graphs. Huang's research include the discovery of the lexicographic method. Worked with senior bankers on prepare three statement financial models and conduct valuations for private and public companies. Working toward good characterizations (in the sense of Tutte and beyond) of various classes of graphs in terms of vertex orderings, edge orientations, forbidden structures, and geometric representations describes his frequent research activities. Research results on nicely structured hereditary graph classes (e.g., interval graphs, chordal graphs, comparability graphs, and circular arc graphs, etc.) often capture his attention. He is particularly interested in the study of graph structures and the uses of structural properties of graphs for solving computational problems. Huang's research area is in graph theory. Jing Huang accepting her award from Minister-Counsellor SHEN Yang at the Chinese Embassy on 11th March 2016.Dr. ![]() In her prize winning essay (‘Hegemony and diversity: the current language ecology in Britain’) based on her own research interests on multilingualism in globalisation, Jing reported on the historical and current use of research on English and minority languages (such as Welsh, Gaelic, and ethnic languages) in the UK. Jing’s essay, together with the other two gold-awarded reports, will be published on China’s leading educational journal in due course. The aim of the discussions and essays arising from the symposium were to help inform the current policy making in China’s education system reform. This award is in recognition of an essay (in Chinese) that Jing had written for a Symposium Report Competition in 2015. The main theme of the 2015 symposium, which was collaboratively organised by the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese Educational Research Association-UK, was ‘comparative research on UK-China education’ and there were also 39 other sub themes. Doctoral student Jing Huang has been awarded a ‘Gold Award’ by the Department of Education in the Chinese Embassy in London.
